Krishan Katyal is a mechanical engineer. He was a registered professional engineer with the State of Illinois.  He has worked for four decades in design and manufacturing with major Chicago area builders of machine tools, consumer appliances, diesel electric locomotives and supplier of heavy concrete construction products.

After leaving his last position with construction products manufacturer, Krishan worked as Manufacturers’ Representative for a few Contract manufacturers.  During his last position as a plant manager, he encouraged training for his employees. This book is an effort to introduce basic understanding of metals and manufacturing.
